Health Management, Minor

Â鶹ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ's minor in health management provides students with an introduction to the structure and management of the U.S. health care system.Ìý Throughout their coursework, students examine challenges that impact delivery of care, such as those related to organization, finance, policy, and operations.Ìý

A minor in health management is an excellent choice for students who seek to supplement their primary field of study with training in healthcare systems. ÌýPre-health students will add to their studies by gaining insight into the structures and systems in which they will work as future clinicians.

The health management minor is offered through theÌýCollege for Public Health and Social Justice, accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health.Ìý A total of 18 credits are required to complete the health management minor.

Curriculum Overview

The minor in health management includes 6 credits of required coursework that introduces students to the healthcare system and management of health care organizations. Students then select 12 credits of elective coursework that includes topics such as health care economics, health care marketing, health care operations, health care financial management, and more.
