Graduate Student Conference

The Department of Philosophy at 麻豆视频下载 is pleased to announce the 2024 麻豆视频下载 Philosophy Graduate Student Conference. The theme of this year's conference at 麻豆视频下载 is "Philosophies of Time, Motion, & Change."

Our keynote speakers are Godehard Br眉ntrup (HFPH/麻豆视频下载) and Dean Zimmerman (Rutgers).

The conference will be held on Oct. 18-19, 2024. We are pleased to announce that the conference will be in person. To promote the health and safety of conference participants, we will be following all public regulations and University protocol.

Keynote Speakers

Godehard Br眉ntrup, S.J., Ph.D.

Professor Godehard Br眉ntrup, Ph.D, S.J., is the Erich Lejeune Foundation Chair at the Munich School of Philosophy, specializing in metaphysics, philosophy of religion, and philosophy of mind. He is also a visiting scholar in philosophy at Saint Louis University. In addition to over 60 articles, he is the author of several monographs (including Mentale Verursachung, Das Leib-Seele-Problem, and Philosophie des Geistes) and coeditor of several journals and anthologies (including The Rationality of Theism, Auferstehung des Leibes, Unheilege Macht, Panpsychism: Contemporary Perspectives, Prozess-Religion-Gott, Panentheism & Panpsychism, and Authenticity).

Dean Zimmerman, Ph.D.

Dean Zimmerman, Ph.D., is a Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at Rutgers University and codirector of the Rutgers Center for the Philosophy of Religion. He is the founding editor of Oxford Studies in Metaphysics (now coedited with Karen Bennett) and coeditor (with Lara Buchak) of Oxford Studies in Philosophy of Religion. He has coedited several other books and his publications include over fifty articles. A collection of papers titled Time, Persistence, and Eternity is forthcoming from Oxford University Press.
